Bah. Bad Luck.

95 though eh? Not much you can do there but look sheepish

Ahhh shame, can't remember what time we were there but I remember the ice cream. nom nom

Bit of a bugger but like you say, could have been worse Claire! I got the sinking feeling yesterday too when a blue car appeared in the mirrors, followed me when turning off onto 1 of my favourite B-roads and had a very ominous looking blue twinkle to its headlights. Turned out luckily to be just some tw4t in a sporty saloon who fancied his chances against the SV......he soon found out otherwise

I only wish i`d got that sinking warning feeling myself.... unfortunately just didn`t see him. Sounds like you were in a playful mood yourself yesterday lol.

Banana chocolate chip ice cream I had, yummy! Also no idea what time we were there, it was probably mid afternoon as didn't leave the Ponderosa till about 11.45 (ish?) and then stopped at Rhug for a while getting food before setting off to Bala for fuel and on to Beddgelert with a brief slow down for the Octavia giving chase. Should have dropped us a text if you were about
We didn`t get to Beddgelert til about 5pm... would`ve text but doubted we`d have been able to manage to meet up so late in the day.

Certainly in Merseyside speed awareness courses can only be offered by the Central Ticket Office, and generally only offered to people caught by cameras. If I issue a ticket at the roadside it's usually always the points and fine or court are the only two options for dealing.
I guess it`s the same over in Wales then too

I get the impression you`re in law enforcement yourself ? He really was a decent chap and I couldn`t fault him or his actions. I was in the wrong and I made that clear to him at the time but it`s really heartening to realise that there are policemen/women out there that are willing to show empathy.

It must have been my lucky(ish) day

Yep. It does come down to individual bobbies, but unless theres other offences or something dangerous or reckless about the driving the majority I work with will issue a ticket rather than summons. A) Because it's less paperwork for us and B) because we're not out to ruin peoples lives by having them banned for what could be a single error.

Well that is my experience of the situation and it`s good to know.

Unlucky , I got the same rap on a sunday in roughly the same vicinity . Strangely though it seems that my job also reduced the severity as I was informed of practically being into triple figures . Sundays are zero tolerance days for bikes in north wales . The officers seem to be quite sympathetic about it but cannot offer you a speed awareness course as the offence occurs on a zero tolerance day

The daft thing is, I can't, under any circumstance, offer a speed awareness course to anyone.

The scamera vans so, but only up to certain speeds.

At three figures, you'd get noting but a court appearance usually, so you're a lucky badger!

You can't get away with anything these days lol.ps I drive an artic if your wondering hehe.
