Re: Moral Dilemma -Need Help
Sorry to go against the majority here - but for me it comes down to how much you value a commitment.
I know it's very cliched - but I try to live by the old 'my word is my bond' saying. You agreed to attend the christening - now you wish to change your mind because something you'd prefer to do has come along. I'm assuming from your post that it isn't family - but that it's a friend; how would you feel if it was the other way round ? If you had an event that for you was big deal & someone had agreed to attend & then backed out for something other than a good reason ? Bottom line is that it's your decision - but if you do attend the christening, when you return your bike will still be there, the Welsh roads will still be there all you've lost is 1 day riding with workmates.

Re: Moral Dilemma -Need Help
Supervox is quite right, however in this case the trip was planned months ago and I got the weekends mixed up.
Bit of a long story behind this cos originally it was my brothers wedding weekend so the guys kindly held back a day so I could go. He recently separated so I thought all was well. But then dopey here said yes defo to the christening thinking we'd be back. Doh! |

Re: Moral Dilemma -Need Help
every one knows that the only point of a christening or baptism is to prevent the fat being sucked from a child to make a flying potion for a warlock...
... or am I being far too influenced by 80's movies again! |

Say you`re already committed to taking part in a charity rideout and don`t wanna let your friends down nor the charity involved.
