Yep, looking forward to 1st impressions, as is my want have tried to read reviews etc. as much as possible & threads like on this site, SV's sound like they are either bullet proof, or riders are expert mechanics, don't seem to hear of very much trouble.
I am praying that mine will be reliable if not the fastest since I don't know where the batteries go into things like spanners & screwdrivers.
Two weaknesses on the Curvy are carb icing in the winter, and water getting into the front plug. Hopefully the one you get will have a fenda extenda, which will solve the second problem. Pro FST solves the first

There are loads of really helpful, knowledgable people on here too, who will do their utmost to help you with any problems.

My one bit of advice, be careful on down-changes. Some people blip the throttle to prevent the possibility of the rear wheel locking up.

Thread here.

Ah, so you'll have your bike for DMC's Willingham Woods ride?

That would be a good one to do, and maybe you could link up with us, DMC and Ralph for the ride to the start point.

Well, they let us go, and we ride a Ducati

Yes, all bikes are welcome on all rideouts.

Thread here about the ride.

I think they only allow us along so they can laugh if we break down!

Guess incl. the course have only done 60 miles in 24 years, have some catching up to do.

So I wasn't the only one who passed their test on Friday 13th.

Congratulations.

I MOT'd my SV650 on Saturday, changed the rear indicators for something a bit more visible on Sunday and rode it to work this week. So, that's 150 miles of big bike experience so far (excluding lessons) and lots to learn. Hopefully, I'll get time this weekend for a little ride.

Keith.

+1

Down changes can be a bit harsh if you dont time it spot on without the blip!
