I ride a bike for the rush of leaning into a corner at whatever speed and then giving it some gas and zooming out of it!!

BIG GRIN!! Rush Of Adrenilin! Magic!

To be on my own, to go travelling/camping (in the summer)

Because (and i found this out after i had bought my sv) you actually feel more in control and part of a man made machine! its magic fun!! Very Positive feeling!!

yeah!!

i was going to buy a tvr cerbera, or something similar, and i wasn't interested in bikes at all. i took the decision to get a bike licence & bike because i would regret spending £20k+ on a fast car only to find out that didn't want it any more and wanted a bike. now that i have a bike, i still want a cerbera but i am less willing to spend the money when for lots less i can get equivalent performance on a bike.

But i probably will end up getting a cerb sometime (within 2-3 years i expect).

Spending a week on a cardiac ward and 4 months destressing made me realise that I needed some Tim time. So got back on two wheels after a 20 year layoff, too busy staying alive to worry about family, work etc.

I got my Virago because it was supposed to be easier to learn and cheaper to run than a car. Taken in by biking propaganda! It wasn't an emotional decision at all, just the idea of doing CBT in a day for £90 and insuring something cool and fun for £150. It was supposed to be cheap to run too... I nearly got a moped but the Virago, rubbish as it was, was far cooler. So that didn't work out, but I got the bug. And I mean, I really got the bug

I still want a car, mind. I love bikes, but that love has its limits, and in December in Scotland those limits aren't always too far off

Relatively cheap.

Relatively environmentaly freindly.

Relatively easy to get a license to ride.

Relatively cool

Relatively quick transport (i.e. through traffic)

I often wonder: Why bother having a car, unless you have a million kids to shepard about and/or huge items to deliver?

Always wanted a bike from my mountain biking days, i was feeling pretty **** and thought i would do something for me, so i did my DAS in Feb this year. One of the best things i have EVER done, fanbloodytastic, and going out on the bike in any weather is the perfect way of clearing my head and being happy (at least while im on it)
