You have gouged my swing arm !!! The trick I learned when I had that bike is to lightly G Clamp the plate to the swinger before undoing the axel nut. No twisting and scoring. Chirpy999... If it had happened in a tyre bay I'd be claiming a new swing arm off them.

Best bet... buy an SV 1000

I'm sorry I didn't expect it to move so I just did it I have been thinking about it to be honest but it depends what the insurance is like. Or I could fit a 1000 arm to the 650 or is that effort?!

I'm only kidding you about the thou. The chain adjusters are ace though. How deep are the scores ? I would blend off the rough edges and any sharpness in the grove because this could possibly cause a crack to propagate eventually, especially if corrosion sets in if not re-treated. Should be ok if the depth is less than 10 - 20% of the material thickness.

I'd quite like one in your colours to be honest! They're not that deep, I don't think. I think its more the corner of the section has been chewed up more than anything.
