I'm guessing it's to do with this little trick:

If you are in 2nd or 3rd gear the ecu retards the ignition (giving lower power) so it can pass noise tests when it was made, disconnecting these wires means it makes full power in 2nd and 3rd.

There is a throttle position sensor mod for that to advance ignition, like on curvys the pickup can be moved to advance ignition, don't think there is a retarded ignition map on pointys.

Looking at the wiring diagram will this not stop the neutral indicator light working?

Neutral is on a seperate wire according to the diagram - 1 for power, then one wire each from the switch for N,2,3. Be Reet.

Got my 0.85kg/mm Sonic springs and blue fuchs Sikolene 15w oil...

Like so...

If you don't have a proper stand a step ladder with straps and jack under does the job...

Origional 7w oil is CRAP, actually had the consistancy of milk I would say.
Bodywork is nearly finished, but managed to re-crack the indicator area, trying to force the stupid rubber things through the hole again, so will re-do that as well.

No garage? - what about hut in the pic (use the existing hut build as a blueprint, could you extend it?) - if your going to look after your bike its worth thinking about.

The wooden shed there has a metal motorbike ramp in it so I can get it in. The bike usually lives in there.
