Well I'm off to visit him at 3 to have a look at what stuff he's actually got and make him an offer.

As for the GSXR shock, I'd advise against it. Sure it's better than the original, but if you're up grading the front you'd be better off doing the back properly too.
If I did fit the shock it'd only be temporary till I could save some money up and get a decent shock.

I'd be keeping my forks so I could put it all back to standard if I ever crashed/sold it!

You'll have to cut the battery box to fit the Gixer shock, so in some respects, not temporary!

Fair one but I could pick up one of them for next to nothing!

Yep, just thought I'd let you know it's not a straight forward swap

Basically, the whole front from top to bottom... Though those clipons aren't ideal, they'll be a bit low. You can use the SV hoses, but i'd use the GSXR one-down, one-across, I think the across is a braided line on that model too which is nice. You don't need the switchgear, clutch lever etc or master cylinder- but I'd use the master cylinder if possible, it's moer suited to the calipers. Not a great m/c but it'll do the job. 'm not sure what you do about bearings for the pointies, Flamin Squirrel will know though.

Rear wheel's no use to you by the way, it won't fit, but you probably knew that...

If you get that lot for under £600 I'm impressed, and possibly disgusted

I didn't have a problem with clip-ons (lower yes, but didn't foul the fairing) but I've got a 1000 front end and I know the ones on the 600 are different.

I had braided lines on my SV before I did the swap. I kept them on with the new front end and they work fine.

Barings are the same, so the yokes swap straight over.
