Pretty much the same as Matlock then, I reckon. Best thing to do there is to enjoy the ride there, stock up on chip fat, then enjoy a ride further over into the hills.

![]() I came from near Buxton..... There's also Long Hill to Whaley Bridge which is also good on a bike. Could do Buxton to Whaley via Long Hill, there to Macclesfield through Kettleshulme ("over the tops") then C 'n' F back to Buxton. Buxton also has the Pavillion Gardens and the Opera House (for cultured people like you this will be an attraction ![]() But at Tomcat says, it's nearly always 10degC colder there than anywhere else. I once got caught in a snow flurry in June. |
