Fuel Tank Capacity & Reserve?

same for me on my K3. I think the light comes on at around 10 litres, which is around 100 miles depending on use for me. 6 liters reserve, no probs. I usually just fill up when i next get the chance once I get to 100 miles gone, if the light has come on or not!

140/150 miles is fairly safe with my K4 and mixed riding.

Light normally comes on at about 115. Does around 9p a mile with current fuel prices.

I always fill whilst sat on the bike upright so get the tank pretty much full.

The K4 doesn't have a flashing light does it?

I was under the impression from reading on here that the K4 did. The K3 definatly dosent.

My SV1000 generally does 90 - 100 before flashing light. I have done 30 miles from flashing and only managed to fit in 15l at the petrol station

Correct, but remember you can get K3 on 54 plates.

Do yourself a favour and carry a petrol can full of petrol on the back of your next big ride and maybe then again a second time. You should get a good figure of how much juice you can get to a tank. Also if you're filling up before a long journey do it without getting off your bike so that you can get in muchos muchos go go juice. Finally don't go on ANYONE'S version of 'I got a million miles out of my tank'! It'll sting you like it did me.

i have a 54 plate. checked the vin number and definatly a k4..but i have no flashing light.

Same here, unless I've not had it empty enough (had 160 miles from tank).

Do you mean the light is steady rather than flashing. Think that is the difference between Curveys & pointed things?

hm. i thought it flashed then went solid on the k4 onwards was my point.
k3 is just steady
curvys only flashes.

is that right or not ??
