On my k3 the light just stays on at about 130 miles and never flashes, assume they have changed it for the k5 then?

I expected the disbelief when I said 180 Miles on a tank. However, I'd like to point out that it's definetly NOT 180 MPG. Come on TC3- I really would be taking the **** then wouldn't I?
I'll try to take a snap of the instruments with the camera phone at some point- remember I'm riding in open traffic situations mostly. Garry |

Ok here goes then. I've snapped the clocks with the good ol' camera phone and here's the evidence- believe it or not the choice is yours and is of no gain or loss to me. I'm sure that some will doubt it.

ok, I believe you, but now tell how you rode those miles.
if this was running in, then youre going to get better than the rest of us who are riding at speed as kwakzzr said. He got 160 miles to a tank on running in while those who arent are getting 130 ish. and can someone confirm what the tank capacity on the SV is? or does it differ by model? |

Yes!The Lurvly curvies have 16 litres and the funny pointies have 17 litres.
Fuel economy varies quite alot with just minor tuning changes, A bike may seem to run fine to the rider but still be running rich which will effect economy. For example my bike would consistently get 18-19km/litre but when I dropped the needles one notch it now gets 21 km/litre, Which is about 200 miles to a full tank |

My SV650 (X) did 150 miles on 13 litres the last two times I filled it, which is 52 mpg (unless my maths is even worse than usual today). I'm new to riding though, so am nowhere near to using the fuel 'optimally' yet
