I wish I had more self control as I would love something like that for the occasional blast. Better for my license that I keep with the SV though.

Will you still want to ride the RGV once you get the new toy??

Yeah. The RGV's a completely different beast, ticks a wholly different set of boxes. I'm looking forward to having two bikes I want to ride rather than just one.

So you did it! Looks like a nice bike might have to have a sit on it at the next meet!

Woke-up feeling all peculiar as I was dreaming about riding the old 600rr. Am getting desperate.....RAR

Every time I look at the exhaust I feel the hatred boil up. I'm a fraction of an inch from clicking buy-it-now on a stock can on ebay but I reckon that can probably wait a week or so.

Now, the kicker is that a few hours after placing a deposit on the GSXR as a "probably" trade-in, someone came and put a deposit on the SV, leaving me cash rich in a few days. I now have two choices:

1. Haggle on the GSXR, despite having paid a deposit (as I'm no longer dependent on an admittedly fairly generous trade-in price)

2. Lose my deposit on the GSXR, buy another one privately, and still be quids in

Monday should be interesting.

I would haggle, maybe you can get them to change the exhaust for a better one, always worth a try.

The private bike has slightly lower mileage, a full size scorpion end-can and standard wheels. The dealer bike has that horrible stubby exhaust, strangely repainted wheels, newer tyres and a warranty.

Here's the sums (before any haggling or replacement parts):

Cost to upgrade to dealer bike: ?2045
Cost to upgrade to private bike: ?1845 including lost deposit.

Decisions, decisions!

Quite possibly. I'll find out later, I'm off to look at it this evening. If I can get him to drop the price by a couple of hundred, and it's a good one, I'll bite his arm off.
