Anyone good at solving track tyre wear issues?

Don't want to condtradict you Andy but reducing the tyre pressures increases the heat in the rubber, the carcass can move more increasing the heat, if its hot tear you really want to be increasing the cold pressures.

I got told by my friendly Michelin Rep that I should go 31/27psi cold on the front and rear (that was for PP3's)

Hot tear is due to under inflated tyre. The carcass is deforming too much. Just add a few pounds then gradual steps. Call Bridgestone for hot pressures or someone like Parkitt Racing who support No Limit's track days.

Thanks chaps - I'll add a few psi and update on the effect. Just need to book my next track day now...

Have a think about getting yourself tyre warmers. I laughed when I was told to use them but surprisingly they gave me extra confidence and stop your tyres going through lots of heat cycles. Just remember to switch them off every time you go oit on track a 20 minute session is enough to melt them.
