You could try leaf-letting nearby places that have garages...

"I will rent a slot in your garage for £xx"...

buy an old van, tax it and stick it on the road outside.

let down the rear tyres and make a ramp

One garage.

Ask a neighbour or try to find somewhere to store it where it can be watched.

If you can find enough room look up protech shelters. Not the best look thing but i've got one and it's easy enough to store a bike in.

Thanks for the advice guys, I like the sound of the van idea, though I suspect it might work out more expensive than renting a garage. The problem with this place is it has no land at all, not even a back yard. Closest it comes to a garden is the front step.

My mate who lives there has a Ducati and within a few hours of him leaving it there the first time he caught two scrotes trying to start it before they pushed it over. His bike now lives with his parents 300 miles away and he goes home to ride every now and then.

I'm sure I'll think of something though.

Dont have to but I'm moving back after a while away and my mates have a room going. I could afford my own place but at the expense of the bike, which kind of defeats the object, especially as everything else except the storage issue is tip top.

Thanks for that, looks interesting. Do you need an MOT and insurance to get a valid tax disc?

I store my bike in one of those council garages, it's in the next road along from me (about 300 meters from my house.)

It costs £30 a month & has the added benefit of being able to house other stuff - push bikes, tools etc & I can also work on my bike in the dry.

HTH.
