Fender extender
Rode 600 plus miles in constant torrential rain on my K1 curvy last year without the slightest hint of a cough or splutter. The old fender extender really did the business. And that was French rain - nasty stuff
Fit it and forget it :P |

It's meant to do that. The coughing and spluttering gives helpful power pulses to the rear tyre in the wet thus aiding traction and giving improved grip.
A Suzuki spokesperson stated when a warranty claim went in.

Or you could use silicone grease instead of the fender extender

I rode 50 miles in heavy rain on the M4 yesterday. No extenda, no grease, and no cutting out, But I have got an extenda to fit. Gotta take the damn wheel off for it (K1) though..
