Ok but seriously 2 things:

1. Die you sneeky, autobin inventing barstards for making my girlfriend spend £75 on a fecking bin
2. Why can't I stop playing with it guaranteed i'll have broken it by the weekend lol

Anyone got any other utterly useless inventions lying around the house? We've got a battery powered fork for eating pasta with somewhere, a gift off somebody....still in the wrapper

Sadly after going to the grand designs show we were taken in by these too. I'd been looking for a decent kitchen bin for ages and it seemed better than the brabantia ones as it did cool stuff. Must admit though in hindsight it is swish and very handy when you have both hands full of stuff. We got the recycling one with two compartments, tidied our kitchen up no end.

but yep, I have to agree, I still feel stupid confessing I have a motorised bin

Is it voice operated or something, how does it know you want to open it.
and I thought the point of a pedal bin was so when you've 2 hands of rubbish you can just stand on it and open it - look mum no hands.

The pointy SV. I mean, its was just perfect with curves, oh that and the Detol No Touch soap dispenser thing. I mean, you HAVE dirty hands and you are going to wash them to make them clean, so does it really matter that you are going to touch a germy hand pump, NO! Stop with the crazy marketing

Yup, ours is one of those high tech ones that you push the lid down and it swings open, cost less than a tenner and seems to work
