Better suspension? Agreed, but that's it.

Hope you're happy with it though.

There is a school of thought subscribing to the idea that Ducati's are a
powerful bird puller ...

Wish you all the best, Marrus!

I know its no more economic than an SV, in fact more expensive. Ducati insurance beat my SV insurance with better cover (I was surprised). But I hack winter with a BMW650GS (heated grips...and can be pushed over by cars more times and get back up )

The Ducati sounds awesome and turns heads. Poserish ? Maybe

I can only say its a great ride and the relaxed seated position makes a nice change from the SV. Two very different bikes. I think its my middle age creeping up on me. Be getting slippers for christmas next!
It's a beast I like it. Enjoy.

The bigger one is the S4R. The S2R is based on the 749 bike engine bored out. The S4R is the Ducati 999 engine.....which is probably enough for most I think

As Ducati say -

The S4R is the top of the range Monster - the most powerful, highest-performance Monster ever. It all starts with the 996 cc Superbike engine and lightweight Superbike-derived trellis frame to ensure the perfect combination of power and handling. A Showa fully adjustable front fork with low friction TiN treatment and a fully adjustable Showa rear shock handle suspension duties. The exclusive Ducati Superbike rising rate, ride height adjustable rear suspension system includes a new single-sided aluminum swingarm. An extraordinarily beautiful “two into one into two” exhaust has been designed for the S4R. With both silencers positioned high and on the right side of the bike, the system has an aggressive and powerful new look.

Have a look at - http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatiuk/bi...html?model=781

All for £8k brand new....the S2R is £6k for reference.

Marrus, excellent choice of bike. I am tempted myself as £5995 for S2R is very reasonable. Did you managed to get any discount off the list price?
