Re: Other bikers who sneak up behind you..
Why only this very afternoon, just after I went round the outside of a gixer on a roundabout in a differenjt lane (dual carriageway, big roundabout) the very same chap went speding past me in a straight line in Brizzle, he was cirtainly shifting. Only after going around him on the next roundabout could I be sure it was the same rider and he did it again.
Seriousely though, if your going to overtake, its only polite to give plenty of space. It really pi$$es me off when they try and split the atom they are so close. I try and make sure that I've been seen before overtaking another rider by moving both left and right of them a tad untill I can see the riders lid in the mirrors. |

kwak, it's their licence to loose, I agree there's far more to riding than going fast in a straight line. We just have to accept that some want to ride that way. I might not hang around but I do try and keep it down to double figures. I have been known to lapse on the odd occasion though like most of us here.

Re: Other bikers who sneak up behind you..
I had it at Boxhill the other week - a coupla 600/1000 racers passed me, one after the other on each side in the SAME FECKING LANE! The roar certainly gave me a shock. I knew they were there, but didn't think they'd pass me so close (I was overtaking a lorry and they were well behind me when I pulled out...).
I'm not that bothered in some ways- fair enuff if you've got the balls to overtake in that space, but on the flip side, it could really freak a new/nervous rider out and potentially cause an accident. Guess that's why it's called the 'Mad Mile"! |

Seriously, different people want different things from biking, just leave em to get on with it.

Re: Other bikers who sneak up behind you..
I got this alot when I had my scooter - i guess L-Plates means "scare the ****e outta me, I'm only a wobbly scooter rider".

It's not the L plates Matt, it's the scooter...

Re: Other bikers who sneak up behind you..
Mind you- on the ride back from Boxhill yesterday, in Chessington (right near my old flat), I stopped at the lights behind 3 young lads on "hairdryers"- one of them pulled out of my way so I could get up to the line and let me past off the green.
Just goes to show really- they're not all idiots and @rseholes. Obviously said a big thanks going past- gotta give respect when you get it... |

Re: Other bikers who sneak up behind you..
Had an RSVR Mille do the same to me just south of Box Hill.
Was doing 70 and thought I'd just been overtaken by Eurofighter! |
