Yup, we're very aware of the results- just rather short on alternatives. Either of your worst cases don't preclude further invasive action to repair though, so we're going to keep an eye on it and if wear is rapid, go further. Hopefully won't be neccesary though.

Maybe a stupid question, but are you sure it's not the shock that's not straight?? Have you tried to put the original shock back in?

Ah, the post that had the measurements in has dropped off, hang on... The spacer alone is w31.9mm, but the "slot" at the point where the bolt goes through is just 32.19mm across- the washers are just shy of 1mm each so the gap's definately smaller than the linkage etc. By a fair bit, as well. The frame gap should be 34mm across, according to TWF So no doubt but that's where the problem is.

Glad it's not my bike

I think you might find the linkage is the wrong way round.

And no dont go cutting the frame...and yes you do need the spacers

I think you might find I'm not a halfwit It's impossible to get it the wrong way round, as anyone who's done this even once knows. I've done it a few times...

I can assure you it's not, the "thick end" doesn't fit into the shock clevis... I do appreciate the effort but we're way past that point.

Ah, apologies, I just realised that some of the posts that are now missing would have clarified matters for you, I was presuming you'd have seen them but probably not now, hence my snippy reaction...

That makes more sense then... Confusing, this missing posts lark. I went and posted a reply to one of Coolgirl's posts that isn't there any more, gave me the general demeanor of a tramp shouting at a lamp-post.
