The problem isnt traffic the problem is poor driving standards, poor driver education and a lack of police force to deal with people when they break the law.

Speed camera's dont fix anything, neither will dropping the limit to 50mph, all it will do is generate more money for the government.

There is very little stopping people driving at 80mph in a 30mph zone as it is.
Dropping it down to 20mph will make little difference to those who don't obey the limits already.

Usual "one size fits all" Bo$$^ks so that the law abiding majority are penalised to control the law breaking few

Also, if they can't enforce the law at the higher value how will they at the lower one?

does anyone remember (i think it was on gadget show a million years ago) that gps thing where it knew what speed zone you were in and so automatically limited your speed to the correct amount?

See why dont they install that on 1,000 vehicles and if they can go 6months with out been found at fault for an accident then that would prove hands down that speeding is a major cause of accidents. In which case maybe people acutally would start to think twice before putting a footdown/winding it on.
