Thanks, that's what I was after - not interested in racers times (hence why I posted this in the trackday section ) 'Thunder have you got a time at Brands yet?
So I don't need to return to the Novice group on any other track or bike?

Oh, and definetely include other tracks on this thread - just probably best to be clear which you are talking about

What about you Blue at Brands Indy?

What do you guys time your laps with?

I used a duct-taped on cheapo stopwatch at the 'Ring for bridge to gantry timing, but at least there you had a chance to reset between laps. Sounds like fun and gives you more of an idea if what feels like a fast lap is a fast lap.

You can get proper lap timers, which I will get at some point they lock onto the beacon on the track to make sure they accurate, otherwise attach a beacon to your car/van if you want one best plave place would be motofourm.

Oh yea, my best Bridge to Gantry time at the Nurburgring so far is 9:48 including slowing for waved yellows. Aiming for sub 9:45 next time.

Most track days don't activate the beacons as they think it encourages racing.

Track Days are "practice days" and are generaly not timed.

I'm just going by the bike in front of me that I kept up with. He had a proper system, but just manual (push a button, not a transponder) just had a look on ebay & they're generally quite expensive. Plus I'm sure a trackday organiser wouldn't be happy to find you with a transponder - so high chance of losing it?
Is video a good method (obviously you only find out after)
Also what should your focus be? passing other bikes or lap times?

Are true but after talking to the guy I got my bike from he, said most tracks just em switched on. long as your destrict with the use of ur timer they won't even notice.

But I'm not bothered about a timer at moment, I have other things to think about.
