Re: Running rough, running out of ideas.
I had the same problem sort of
I had changed everything related to the fuel system and electrical system, ended up costing a load of money...It turned out, after much head scratching and pondering that when they fitted the alarm, they didn't cover the solder properly and the loom had begun to corrode.....I replaced the whole loom and have never looked back since It might help just having a look at the wireing near the alarm wires...assuming the bike has an alarm Hope this helps |

Re: Running rough, running out of ideas.
Have you checked your main earth from the battery to the engine? If this is OK check further back. Considering all the checks you have made so far, I would check for a bad earth somewhere.

Re: Running rough, running out of ideas.
Yeah, if you have an alarm, some wires might have been spliced into. For example, on mine, a laserline alarm required a cut into the power line going into my indicator relay to put a diode in. Otherwise, the alarm guy was telling me when the bike is turned off, with an indicator on, the ingnition stays on. Said it can also kill alarms. My indicators stopped working after going intermittant. Found out by uncovering the black tape on that wire and saw the diode. Diode was giving bad continuity, soldered in a new one and fine. Moral of story, yeah, you could have some chaffing or bad connection, but, sounds more to me like something telling the plugs when to fire or how hot is not working. Where's all the sparky geniuses on this site???

Re: Running rough, running out of ideas.
Good hint, thanks, I'll definately check the earthing/loom tomorrow...
Oh and have a look at the ecu? Oh, and I've had the same problem with the diode leg, much fun... NOT! S |

But I'd laugh louder if I hadn't just sent my exhaust baffle into the dark recesses of the can while "easing" it into place. Or maybe everyone ends up installing them from the engine end of the exhaust? |

Re: Running rough, running out of ideas.
Best way to check the ignition unit is to swap with someone rather than risk ebay
Black box trouble is fairly rare though
