Or in my case - buy Scottoiler, sort out getting it fixed in, fixer changes mind, dry chain and scottoiler in cellar.
Doesn't matter anyway. Havent ridden it in ages. It'll be a pile of siezed rust before it gets looked at again |

i find motorex 622 chainlube will last upto 1000 miles between applications and pos 200 to 500 miles in the wet and in winter when its salty,and i can get a chain to last upto 20000 miles or more on some bikes.and i have never cleaned a chain before

S'cuse me mister....but I have cleaned all my chains with WD40 on a rag...then re-lubed with Castrol chain lube.
Where is theeese option huh?

Correct answer IMO is either.
If you are using old engine oil, probably 100 miles in between applications is OK. Good quality chain lube a bit longer but not much. Proper solution is scottoiler.

doesnt engine oil damage the 'o' rings in the chain?
and using a scottoiler will only lube one side of the chain or put more lube on one side of the chain. i just buy can of chain lube and spray every few days or 200miles (i carry a can round with me most the time) clean with chain cleaner every services (3K intervals/monthly) |
