We are in novice group, I am more intermediate but want to be in same group as my mate and I dont like the aggressiveness of the higher groups - its a track day, not a race FFS.

Oh well ... I might have missed out?! Normally someone drops out nearer the time though, so not all is lost ... also you might just have taken the last 2 places in the group not overall?

I suspect they had some "reserved" for phone sales and when all the Internet ones were sold (I def took the last 2) they diverted some of the "reserved" ones.......

I'm going to wait until the last week or so as well! See how its goes. There is always Mallory on the same day with Hottrax for 55 pounds, and there are loads of places left, but if the weather is going to be rubbish then, I'd rather not!
