Hi there, new to the forum but not to biking. I'm just wondering if there are any advantages to running a 520 set up on the road apart from price? Most of my riding is two up and I'd be interested to see if it needed more frequent adjustment than 525 or 530.

Ive always found a good quality standard chain is fine for the sv as long as you keep it lubed.Id buy from a reputable source to avoid counterfeit carp as well.

Consumer rights act, always good to try a refund using that one.

With something like that you can say that you would expect this item to last longer than it did as you looked after it.

Bought a DID X ring kit from Wemoto. Tried breaking the old chain with my chain breaker which is a made in Taiwan copy of the DID tool and broke the pin.So it looks like ill be needing to angle grind the old link off , and will need a new tool for fitting the new chain. What gdo you guys recommend for this job?

Thanks

never try and use a riveter to take a link off. angle grinder with a 1mm cutting disc and off with its heads then just pry old plate off with screwdriver. use the old chain to feed the new one on then change the sprockets. when feeding the new chain use the old link and put the plate back on with pliers until chain is fed through round to the back sprocket then while on the sprocket put the new link on, the sprocket holds the two ends of the chain for you.
