No enjoyment for me if your cold and wet and in debatably unpredictable conditions.

So I'm with ED

It's only a crack, it's not serious until his legs fall off.

Pah, Ed just admits it

Nowt wrong with riding in the winter. You just haven't got the right gear for it

Work shirt, jumper, good bike jacket, good bike trousers, balaclava, good gloves, sorted

I'm doing Brands on the 30th. It's just a laugh and it's all relative. Sure if it"s dry there won"t be as much grip as on a hot summers day but you just have to ride accordingly. Mind you it pays to have a few choices of what to ride. I'll take my sports bike, the SV and my Supermoto....that should cover most eventualities!! and all for £60...bargain!!

Is SM easier to ride when it's slippy? All that boot-down stuff help?

depends on the bike, but in general i find a SM is more confidence inspiring with less weight in general but especially on the front wheel, the KTM can be a handful if it's slippery, i've had the back wheel spin up while the front is in the air and the throttle response isn't conducive to mid corner fettling, sticking your boot out can save you from going over or it might, as was the case of one of the KTM boys who joined the flids in spain, break your ankle even with proper MX boots + sliders, so take your chances

still wouldn't fancy my chances on a wet cold track this time of year though, no fun to be had...
