Sv650 s. 2007 wont start on the button

The lights dim (Read: Go off) because there is a cutout switch in the starter button.

This sounds like a solenoid issue if its not even clicking, id expect the solenoid to at least click if the starter motor was goosed.

Good point, I was thinking dim.....

Found the problem
Was the starter motor
Lazy starter
Taped it with a hammer and
It worked not ever time
So im gona rebuild it
Does any one no if the starters are the same
On all years of the sv

(Not on my SV650s but.. ) My starter jammed up after my battery went dead and took the solenoid with it for some reason. Replaced the battery and solenoid and the bike would only start pushing it first time, but all fine again after it had had a few miles riding.

Nah, still attached to m'bike!

Wemoto have a starter motor repair kit for £21 and a starter solenoid for £53 (ouch!) so hope it's not that.

The part number is this, same as V strom.
# 31100-19F00

Looking at the parts fiche, it would seem its serviceable as many of the internal parts can be purchased.

You could also take it off and get it serviced/reconditioned?
