Oulton Park is bloody brilliant. I've done loads of laps there on a Yam 350LC (before the chicanes went in) and never felt that the lower power or smaller capacity got in the way of having fun. In fact, laying waste to large cc inline fours everywhere apart from the back straight added to the fun

Middlesbrough go kart track is a good starter. Jamie whitham instructs there also for £100. Think it's about £40 for an evening and £70 for full day. Worth a look for the price

Another vote for Blyton park.
Great for Novices due to the run off areas, well organised and friendly folk.
Not too long so easy to learn but with good challenges once the speed increases.

My first was Cadwell and found no issues with it so long as you ride with respect for the track!

Cadwell and Oulton are both fine for first-timers. Cadwell has a friendlier atmosphere, and it's a cracking little track, but it does have a few drawbacks. The track itself is pretty narrow, and the paddock facilities are rudimentary at best. There are no garages, so on a wet day it can be a pretty miserable place, whereas Oulton offers some shelter.

I was at Cadwell the other week with Lincs road safety and it's fine for a novice (only done Snet before) in fact, I am aiming to be there in Sept with the BMW club (although I get to sneak on with my Triumph) the beauty of these days are: 1. There are instructors/coaches and you can grab one every session. 2. It's pegged as a better riding day, so more subdued (but you can still get a wriggle on) 3. It's friendly 4. They have some decent rules on overtaking and if you act like a nob, you will be taken off track.

Teesside Autodrome, few people I know are there once a week without fail!
East Fortune is one of the best wee tracks in the country just need a big coffer fill

Street triple R - gone but not forgotten. Now trying the lunacy that is KTM with a Superduke GT. for the pillion capability of course.
