Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?
Smaller the can louder it will be yes. Less material and baffle to absorb the sound.
I've never bothered as I'm keeping the SV400 as standard as possible. But I know the OEM kit is very heavy compared to aftermarket solutions. |

Short cans like that mess up the power delivery, don't do it

I agree Chris. A weight saving is always useful though so the small stubby looks like a good option. I could balance the weight loss by doing the different chain and sprocket option on the other side...

Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?
If it's any help I have an SP Engineering stainless GP silencer on my curvy, it's mounted in the standard position (off the passenger peg) but the sound with baffle in is really nice 'n' crisp, and with baffle out ... absolutely awesome! Really barks, especially when winding it up.
Check out their site, they've got plenty of styles to choose from. The problem of it fitting low will only be down to the angle of the link pipe and then getting creative with fabricating a suitable hanger. Can't be more helpful than that tbh but as said .... i can recommend the SP silencer. Hope you find a solution. |

Still haven’t worked out how to attach pictures but have a look at Suzuki SV650 Caballo de Hierro on bike sheds classifieds. Bloody gorgeous and has what looks like an SP slip on.

That has been an inspiration; actually I'll ask them as they are very happy to chat about their builds.

You can't "attach" using the forums' own paperclip, you have to link to an image which usually, but not always, means they are stored on an image hosting site. As an example, here's a link to a picture of a Kawasaki H1A: https://classic-motorbikes.net/wp-co...awasaki_h1.jpg if I put at the back (which means typing the square brackets as well as the letters), I get this: I tried it with the bike shed but they don't allow linking so you'd have to do a snip and store it on your image hosting site, like this: Not my cup of tea, especially for £8700 but each to his own.

30 quid chinese jobby on mine...!
Ran it for 2 years now, without a supporting bracket, no issues. Sounds decent too.

Used to run a Pro Race Exhaust Systems gp can for awhile, had to fit a baffle to it as was WAY too loud without it.
