Re: Pointy Cams ?
My understanding is the main benefit from the K3 swap comes from fitting the old inlets to the exhaust, the stock exhaust cams being a tad restrictive. My motor sounds very different after doing this mod, less like two Honda fifties, more like two raspy Starfires. Dynod at 78 rear wheel HP on an otherwise stock motor ( ignition advanced a tad by slotting the pickup mount holes) with no other changes to intakes or exhaust systems. After a year of running with this mod Im very pleased, the only slight downside is the motor feels a tad rougher when under load, that could be the advance though.
Good cheap horsepower compared with the cost of a full exhaust system, with no plod advanced warning noises. Cheers Pod |
