Could be over complicating things here, but is the pressure supplied from the different pumps the same?
Could be the later ones run a higher pressure what with the trend of manufacturers going for higher pressures to atomise the fuel better.
No fact behind this but I would check it if it was me.

the one i found is yd8 silver (bonus) and its from a k3/4 model so the fuel pump will fit, its the £125 i cant get my head round

Tis expensive but it's what the breakers tend to charge for decent tanks. Your only other option is to sit it out and wait for one on ebay (unlikely to get and undamaged silver one however, don't see many perfect tanks full stop.) which may take a while!

i see your having a dabble on that other blue one on ebay did you see my ad in the forsale section? some breakers give me there number, they have a blue one for £95.

Yeah, not payin 100 for it when I already got one for my needs, just playin!

Will be on the lookout for a K5 fuel pump though!!!

£125 for a 'ready to fit' solution is pretty reasonable really.

I think a tank from Suzi is upwards of £400, then add the pump gubbins at £200 - Ouch!

And, according to ronayers the K3 one has been discontinued so you'd be scouring forever to find that elusive last one in stock somewhere! I'd hazard a guess this is why they go for good money if in good nick 2nd hand.
