OK,
So you guys reckon that if I purchase a 9 x 7 plate, with a slogan and the correct size letters / numbers. The likelyhood of me being pulled by Mr Plod is highly unlikely? But what you're also saying is that if Iwas to purchase a number plate the size of a postage stamp with a slogan they'll give me a nice fine for being a nob ed, and being "Typically Scouse" |

Mine is more or less at the bottom end of sensible, and while i've been stopped with it (and the race system with its Not For Road Use) on, never got any bother for either... I was wearing a dark visor but had the clear one with me and they were happy enough that I was wearing it just for those dazzling winter mornings (true) so I wasn't even told off they checked proper roadworthiness things like tyres, indicators, etc, then told me to bugger off. Another copper on another day could have done me for all 3 though.
Basically, it's the risk you take. I'd consider a £30 fine to be just part of the cost of the small plate, just like the cost of having it made.

I had a legal size plate on the back of my NC24, with the lovely slogan "Scared ****less" on the bottom of it, and never had any hassle from the boys in blue. No problems when i had "Scorchio!" on the back of my SV.
Legal-ish looking plates shouldn't get you any trouble from unwanted people, and I have never had any trouble with my plates at MOT time. |

I suppose it depends on the slogan too.
If you are questioning the nice policemans parentage or suggesting he practises ritual self abuse, then he may take you to task for it :P |
