K2 had preload caps only. You can fit the K2 caps onto earlier ones too.

Like what i did. Still can't owrk out if it makes a difference even after several years and riding an un modified sv back to back.

Makes a difference yes, but no point having preload on sh*t springs is there.

Preload is something you set once and pretty much leave alone, you can do that with washers... don't need preload caps.
