Ping and Messie-----------now we're talking. Joking apart it really is a relaxed,good time without the camping hassle,shower,change meal and a few drinks every night. Apart from the two motorway stints,short days riding with shortcuts for bad weather or whatever. Everybody goes at their own pace,no pressure and stops for tea/photos/fag every hour as the plan is only for 3-4 hours riding per day in Scotland,10:00AM-till-5:00pm days the rest is holiday mode

I know that there are many good and true people on this site; I also know that the forum has changed in many ways. For example the style of moderation is different now to say 18 months ago. That is not a dig at anyone - things always move on and progress and change, often for the better.
It's just that the overall style and feel of the conversations is often not to my taste.

Was going to make like a Ninja, pop in here, call you all old farts and boring (except for Ping - shes great) and generally just be light hearted about things.

But seeing this, I thought a few more serious words are required.

The web-site www.penny-arcade.com came up with "The Great Internet ****wad Theory", which due to the U-rating I wont link to, and will rename it "The Great Internet Idiot Theory" for the purposes of this post.

The theory is actually a formula which goes


Normal Person+Anonymity+Audience =Total Idiot


This applies to ALL branches and forums on the internet, and is a fact of life.

So based on that, and the fact that there ARE people that you would want to spend the weekend with, its really easy to just ignore the ones that you want to, there are likely to be 50 people there.

Take my AR07, there were a couple of people that I wasnt looking forwards to meeting, my solution to dealing with people I dont like or want to interact with, is to just ignore them.

Now there were a couple of people that I had planned this approach with, but due to name stickers being hidden by rain coats, at times you would be talking to someone without knowing who they were.

On more than one occasion it turned out that someon I had just spent time talking to - and enjoying their company, was on my "ignore-list"

Remember that most people online are themselves, just turned up to 11.

Dont let anyone else stop you going, or having a good time.

Things for the re-organised version are bound to be MUCH more simple and "traditional".

Please reconsider your stance on this - not for me, when it comes down to it your attendance has only a very slight bearing on my weekend, but you not being there WILL have an effect - even if that is just that there is one less person there to say hello to.
