Some games off the top of my head better than those for 360 (im a PC fan btw so dont really care). Halo 3, Gears of War, Moto GP 07, Quake 4, need for speed, Project gotham racing 4... The games are mostly childish on the wii, parents think thats what kids want. Pff not for me.

PC is the best imo.

Resident Evil 4 is the exception to that rule. I bought a GC solely for that (I subsequently only bought 2 other GC games). Resi 4 is probably my favourite game of all time. Huge replay value too; try getting 5 stars in The Mercenaries for all characters. I managed it last week after playing the game for the best part of 3 years! The Wii version is the best by a long way too. In spite of having played it to death on GC, I have just bought the Wii version.

i went from playstation to xbox and mod'd it with the xecutor 3 chip put a 120 gb hard drive in it which holded about 42 games then got a new PC for making a project studio on ended up making a duel boot (2 operating systems) machine one drive for studio and the other for a games machine its got a 3gig dual core cpu 2gig of memory and a radion sapphire X1950PRO video card and it can kick any console ass, didnt think much of PC gaming untill i tried it a keyboard and mouse for FPS games is like being there rather than a game pad still use the pad for racing games

Yea Keyboard and mouse is so much better for FPS games!

What CPU you got at 3GHz?

I built a game muching machine about a year ago now, other than the GFX card (x1950XT) which is still capable of playin crysis on med settings its still Very good machine. Might have to get a new ATI 3870 GFX card soon though.

Ya see, this is why consoles are more popular than PCs ...

Console games are written for ONE set of hardware (per console).
PC games are written for the fastest available graphics cards, which many people don't have, and so they have to "restrain" the software to enable it to run on their own hardware ... but Joe Public couldn't really give a monkies whether "Death-Crisis-Halo-6-We're-All-Doomed-Quaking-in-our-boots" runs on their particular hardware or not! They want to see "Runs on PC" ... what they get is "System Requirements" which is then split down into a half-dozen numbers and TLA's (three letter acronyms) which most people don't understand or can't remember if their PC comes up to scratch ... and now software manufacturers are starting (or have been for a long time) to put "minimum requirements" and "recommended requirements" on packaging (which IMO is a good idea, but then I consider myself PC-savvy - not everyone is).

So no wonder the consoles are more popular when all you have to do is go into a software store and look for something that says "PS2" or "XBOX360" on it

Personally, I think it's gr8 that you can upgrade PC's to keep pace with software advancements, but it's not for everyone

The only reason i will be upgrading is so the games look as good as they can. It is similar to a person upgrading from the xbox to the 360. The same games still come out for both but they look better on the 360...

A modern game will still run on a PC 3 years old, its just the setting will have to be lower. Same as a modern game runs on a new (ish) Console.

You see a lot of games are written for PC's not consoles, the game has medium to low settings for consoles and low spec PC's and the higher settings to take advantage of the newer PC's power, they are the same game, just PC one will look better. (I'll admit it is still easier to buy the console version because you know its deffo gunna work - or should ).

You see without the PC the console would be Dead in the water for MANY MANY reasons. Where do you think the next Gen Console components will come from? So all these people who openly say Consoles are better they should be careful

Not dissin ya decision to upgrade ... to those that can, I say "go for it", there's nothing more satisfying than playing the latest game on the latest graphics card (it's just a few years since I've done that LOL)

So low sometimes as to make the game almost unplayable (and even more so online).

That kinda demonstrates the point I was trying to make ... the games developers only have to consider (and test) ONE lot of hardware for Playstation2 ... but for PC ... how many different possibilities are there?!?
Questions you find yourself asking (as a PC owner) are, what resolution can I run this game at? How many fps will I get? and will it still be "playable"? Will I have to drop the colour depth down? ... can I get away with playing this with only half a gig of RAM? Console owner don't give a stuff about that lot. The only question is "Will it work?" and the answer should be "yes" or the games company shouldn't be releasing it! LOL

I have never claimed that consoles are better than PC's ... however the PS3 contains some pretty impressive hardware (cell processor), but it can still be beaten by some top-end PC CPU's ...

But, if you walk into most software stores (Game, Gamestation, etc.) these days, you will see wall-to-wall console games ... PC games appear to be shoved on a shelf at the back of the store. The same goes for the supermarkets that sell games. So the BBC's assertion that PCs are more popular than consoles doesn't wash IMHO and IME.

If you look at the current games Top 40 too ...
14 of the top 40 titles are for PC ... that's less than half.
Only 13 of the titles don't run on what I would consider the latest consoles (360, PS3, Wii) and most of those 13 titles are for the DS anyway (which is just a hand-held console!).

So I think the BBC's arguments (and mine) may require more in-depth analysis
