The sprockets can sometimes get oval - this will result in loose and tight spots as you rotate the wheel. Thrashing yer bike(heavy acceleration and engine braking) will wear the transmission out much quicker.
Best stuff for cleaning chains is brake and chain cleaner. Even with a Scottoiler I clean my chain occasionally - even if it looks clean. ![]() ![]() After 17.5k miles my chain and sprocks don't look too bad but I will change them before I do my euro trip .. |
