Sounds a bit extreme to me... I agree that the text speak is annoying cos sometimes you have to spend time trying to figure out what`s being said but I thought forums were meant to be "friendly". I`m sure a pm would have sufficed rather than a ban. Amazing how a little bit of power goes to some peoples heads!!!

i know my spelling is not the best, but IMO i dont use text typing

only the obvoius things like b4 HTH IMO AFAIK etc

are these acceptible or not?

I think they are, its the posts that the whole of it is written in text speak that I find realy irritating, the abbreviations I think are fine.

they're pretty universally used these days *shrug* so no there shouldn't be a problem. Text speak is more to do with complete absence of vowels and is a pain. IMO using these casual acronyms is just the same as using RSPCA or NATO. You just need to get used to them.
