I think it is from 2003 onwards they have to come on in europe anyway. My old pointy did and it was a03 model!!

the ZX6r does as well ( well one does) and its bloody bright!! If it diddnt i would turn them on as its black so helps to be seen.

I use dipped headlights all the time, just because it can't really hurt to have them on.

On, always. Gives us that bit more of a chance to be seen.

I even drive the car with sidelights on during the day. Whenever your out, sit at a junction and look how much more the cars stand out with sidelights on. It catches your eye.

Bandit has them come on with ignition, 1 less job for me to do (or forget to turn off )

Always on dip, although if I was on my own I used to run with a 100W full beam neck-frier. Tin-can drivers FELT it!

Now I wait till its broke before upgrading lights(and they all do need upgrading!)

Do sidelights serve any purpose on a bike or car?

(other than to single you out as a dumbfeck in the dark?)

I run with dipped all the time, I like living!

Seems to make me a little bit more obvious and does reduce the amount of cars pulling out on me (although some days it seems like they are all aiming for me!)

Its not dumb at all, its a little common sense if you want to be seen.

I remember the big argument that started when someone in the EU (i think) said all cars should be hotwired to have there lights on all the time (like volvos do) and all the bikers where up in arms about it.

i had this problem with my bike. my light would drain the battery fast than i drink a pint on a friday. check your regulator / rectifier its a common problem with the sv curvys apprently
