Cheekiness will ensure you don't live to become old and decrepit

So when I got my 10R last year I only had 1 year NCD although I had held my licence for 12/13 years (31) and I kept the bike garaged but the best premium was ?1150 comp with ?500 excess.

This year I was quoted ?600 (?500 excess again) but went on confused.com and Motorcycledirect would do it for ?241 with a ?750 excess. I will probably go for that.

Even if I wrote it off I'd have to think twice about claiming as I can't protect my NCD so a claim would mean losing it and being a high risk - so no chance of ever getting insurance again. So if I did ?1000 worth of damage I'd still pay out of my own pocket. If I had to make a claim for a write off then the excess would be ?250 more than with the ?600 policy but I'd have saved ?360 on the premium!
There is one company that offers protected NCB from one year. Speak to MCE about it, I think it's HBOS.

Wow. Footmanjames are awesome. Bennetts wanted £621 for renewal and Ebike wanted £521. Footman James came to £350 including European breakdown whish was £50 extra for the other two companies.

Am I right in thinking that if a claim is pending (as in liability has not been decided) you have to declare it as fault- costs not recovered? Most companies don't have a 'claim pending' option.

Not sure about the 'claims pending' Dan. I'll ask His Lordship when he gets home from work.

The breakdown and recovery service is excellent. We've used it twice in the last 4 years. Both times no quibble, and the second time we had a bike-specific van too.

Pete's at work, so I'll answer. They had no quibble about the mods at all. Listed everything at cost , including our Akrapovic system. Didn't put Pete's renewel up by so much as a penny from the initial quote, and the mods listed came to over 2 grand
