Default Re: K4 Exhaust on a K3 - OK?

Right I have spoken to CCC finally and they reckon it's ok.

Have picked the can up (thanks Jonny) all I now have to do is drill out the remainder of the rivet which used to hold the baffle in and replace it with a screw, buy a new stainless steel jubilee type clip and then get the b*****ks to do it myself.

CCC told me to cut the pipe 45mm from the weld. Is that from the centre of the weld, the side nearest the can or the side furthest away from the can?

Can a numpty like me really do it myself????

Side nearest to a can, and yes a numpty (sorry I mean person) can do this easily! If you cut it on the bike always keep an eye on the blade, you don't want to be cutting into the swingarm. However, it is an easy job and the reward for such a job is that glorious V-twin burble!!!

The weather didn't exactly smile on me (p*****g down), but I set my mind to it and she's on!!!

Sounds sweet too with or without baffle in - oops it fell out again.......

Before anyone asks, yes I did wake my nightworking neighbour up with no can on at all.............

On quick question though will it change the bike much fuel wise?

Well done KR, your getting the hang of all this DIY stuff now! Very nice looking can that, I like the shape too (slightly different than usual), you have done a good job there!

I have a Curvy (well two actually) and on the 750 I have a Skidmarks DB and on the 650 I am planning on fitting a Fabbri DB. The 650 is gonna be the 'over option' bike for my accessories/modifications and she is going to be taking over the everyday transport role soon. The Skidmarks one is around 3 years old now and it's still crystal clear, fits perfectly and easily!

Do a search for screens and see if you can find some pictures of DB's on Pointys!
