That's the exact reason why I warn people. Usually it translates roughly to "Watch out, that cage in front of you is about to hit it's brakes!"

Round here, the thumbs down is pretty universal.

Also hand outstretched low opening closing, you have left your indicators on.

Either that, or flash lights (if it's a car oncoming). Or as one person witnessed last Sunday, if I know they're hidden from view of the plod, I'll use hazard lights too.

+1 to all of the above...

on the Peri track around the runway if the RAF coppers (ex Cloggsy) are about , I'll ring the Sqn Sergent Major, so he can inform all departments.

I generally flap my left hand in a downwards direction but a thumbs down's a good idea.

I would not dream of attempting to worn other road users that their behaviour is under scrutiny.

Some times I do get cramp when riding and have to wave my hand up and down, somethimg like a slow down signal. I often find that proximity to laser beams brings on the cramps.

I use thumbs down or pat my head. This is not to warn other road uses but simply cus I have muscle spasms occasionally!

Went to Squires nr Sherburn a few weeks ago and although 20 bikes plus were coming from Sherburn not one gestured any warning of police. Thankfully, a van driver flashed me several times and my 6th sense then told me to slow down. 300 yds on there were 3 cop bikes and a van.

I then made the slow down signal to any biker I saw before reaching Sherburn.

A few people have also told me how they've been warned by vans / cars and not by bikers.

After being flashed that many times you had to rely on a sixth sense...What about the other 5?

Personally i pat my helmet.
