Arriving at this site after driving through a depressing and extremely run down part of Clacton we were checked in and told 'to find somewhere' to pitch up. The site was packed out and we only found a pitch after driving around twice. No hard standing appeared to be available.

Although electric hook-ups were available ours had been taken by someone else who refused to remove their plug, this was rectified a short while later.

My opinion of this site being now somewhat jaded was further reduced on inspecting the toilet and shower facilities. Although they looked good from the outside it quickly became apparent they were suffering from 'commercial site-itis' This condition, only found on commercial sites is the net result of unsupervised and unruly youths who loiter around these facilities, blocking the toilets with loo rolls and throw soggy bits of toilet paper around. Why is it that this is allowed to happen when we all have to use these facilities? Parents who refuse to supervise their children should be thrown off the site.

My spirits were bolstered a little when seeing the club house. This was quite new and looked good. The evening entertainment was an excellent live band, however my experience was once again jaded by the clientele with their refusal to supervise their children running amok and the over-powering fug of cigarette smoke which made my eyes water.
Day 2 on the site and we decided to visit Clacton - then came back! Enough said there I think.

We decided to try the beach walk, after dodging teenagers on skateboards, mini-motorbikes and stunt bikes the walk was quite pleasant. We stumbled across an old coastguard station where wonder of wonders, there was an art exhibition. If ever a place needed culture this was it! This was a jewel in a vacuum.

I'm sure this site would appeal to some people but I couldn't get away from it fast enough - there is no way I would go for a return visit.

I agree with a previous report about having to go through a shanty town to get there that was a bit of an eye opener but it made the kids laugh.
Rather you than me mate!

But I suspect ASM was referring to someone else's wife who he has a thing for
