I've got a dark tint cos I have real problems with bright lights. Never felt like I have a problem seeing even in slightly dusky conditions. Wouldn't wear it at night though....

You'll get away with a medium tint with the police as its probably not over the 50% legal allowance for a visor thats what ive done. Im a lazy b*stard and cant be **** to keep changing the visor and putting strain on the mechanism constantly also. lol! I've just put a clear fog city insert in it so also dont get the annoying fog up.

Thanks for all the info and thoughts. Didnt seem to get any email notifications of thread replies so it's taken a while to see all this. I ordered a medium tint for the shoei in the end, not recieved it yet, but i'll let you know what i think of it when it comes! Got it with a pinlock insert also, as hopefully i'll be wearing it with all the bright beautiful sunshine thats coming up....

Hmmmm, just order a visor for my Maverick, never seen a "medium" tint, normally it's legal tint, dark tint or race black.

to be honest Legal tint is a bit of a waste of time as it's less than a pair of sunglasses, Went for a race black as that's what I have on the Astro, good for normal & bright days and as I change it for evening/night riding the dark tint holds no advantage.

Cheers Mark.

I think it may just be the shoei CX1V visors that come in light, medium and dark. Like you say the legal light tint seemed a bit of a waste of money as it wasnt that dark...what are the laws like in europe anyone know?
Off in summer on a trip and would be using the tinted visor, should i be prepared for trouble?

Not sure on the laws (or whether they have changed), but I've done a fair amount of European travel and much as over here, carrying a clear visor and switching at night, I never got stopped over it, or questioned when stopped for anything else, haven't really been in Europe for a bout 5 years now so things may have changed, but it's probably the same.

Cheers Mark.

yeah heard of Switzerland being strict on general stuff like speed and exhaust noise, but have ridden threw twice with a dark visor fitted ( at the speed limit and not reving the nuts off the bike, although race pipe fitted) and didn't have a problem, I think you'll be fine with a little common sense.

Cheers Mark.
