You have carpet in your kitchen?!!?

Here, I for one actually like domestic spiders ... sure, that one was a bit freaky looking ... but basically if I see a normal spider in my house (however large) I am actually pleased (sure it is not like I'd want to go an stroke it, but it is not like I want it gone) ...

Why you might ask???

Because spiders trap and eat midgeies and stuff that really would/does hurt/bite/annoy me!!

So little are welcome in my house

I would rather have had that this morning!!! I spent about 10 minutes trying to catch a cockroach at my work, between cringing and tap danceing round about it and having a screaming abdab trying to get this thing into a container as the bosses like proof that we realy did see them, yuch me skins still crawling thinking about. Bugs dont generally bother me but this was massive!

Was the camera zoomed in? Generally, woodlouse spiders are a pretty rare sight, and where there's one, there's more.

Whlst the venom isn't toxic to humans, the bite can bloody hurt, and I certainly wouldn't advise picking one up with your bare hands.

Keep your eye out for her brothers & sisters, and if there are young kids around I'd consider pest control (professional ones). Although, in our house, I'd call pest control for the spider's benefit, as I know what my 3rd old is like!!

Hmm definitely rather you than me on that one, I don't think I could cope with cockroaches

Does anyone get silverfish? We get them in the bathroom sometimes, they're about 2-3mm long and thrive in humid conditions, feeding on shampoo and soap compounds in (the bathroom anyway)

Here's one
