yeah F mark with the cams pointing towards eachother as per the manual. 1R pointing to the front of the bike on the intake and the 2 and 3 are 16 links apart. I think if the timing was off I would hear some crunching in there =)...

I'm almost certain it is the rear carb, so when I have a few hours to deal with it I will take them appart and clean them. I'll keep this thread posted.

One of the intake valves broke and the springs were released leaving the valve open. Gonna order a few new parts and take the top of the cylinder to a shop so they can install since I don't have one of those c-clamps to compress the spring.

Either way, glad I finaly found out what the cause was.

valve or retainer.
02's like to break retainers.
you sure cam timing is right?

It the retainer that gave. And since the valve was open it got banged a few times and seems to be stuck in there. I don't want to try and force it out myself not sure if I can damage anything.

Timing was correct, the shim was out of its place when I took the tapet off.

I don't think you can do any more damage
damage is already done.let professionals deal with it.if you lucky head will be fine.
end of valve will need to be ground to get it out through valve guide.
