I'd just leave it to dry naturally. I dont like putting my lid near heat. I'm probably being paranoid mind.

If you want to speed up the drying process you could stuff it with newspaper, works on my boots when they get wet.

Mine's getting a bit mingin too. What useful things you learn on the org, I didn't know that the cheekpads were removable, I've just done taken em out and replaced em no problem.

Wouldn't the newsprint get it dirty again

I like the fan idea, but I doubt an airing cupboard would be too much heat - it's only like a warm day.
