you can get plastic grids that are covered with soil and grass. Then you can have a lawn but drive on it. I think the grass wears well

Ideally I would like as much space as possible to have room for both the car and the bike, currently there is only room for one or the other.

Most people have drives that slope from their third step down to the pavement, but I would prefer it to be flat as it currently is as it makes things easier bikewise and that's the most important part.

Can any of you clever lot help?

Sorry I'm not too good with stuff like this...but one question - do you park your bike there all the time? How is it still there?!

I go with option A, except I didn't think that little bit of wall next to the current 'front 3 steps' was the border - looking at the house, I thought it was the wall behind that?

Oh and maybe take the opportunity to think about putting a more secure gate in too (at the front, at the border to the pavement/road)? Not sure how good they are, but if someone has to break open a lock on a gate before trying your Almax, it might dissuade them more...

In fact - get a gate MADE from Almax chains

Or use one to fasten a normal gate

Christ, I hate to think how much that would cost, when it's about £66/metre of chain!

Please see below:

Option A - Level the lot from wall to wall, however personally I'd put in a small porch/deck at door level and add steps to meet the front edge of the wall of the right hand window. I would pave right the way across and put in some garden pots with conifers (or the like) to add a bit of colour. Ensure the pots are fixed to the floor though.

Edit: Forget the porch idea. Just noticed there isn't the room. Level it wall to wall and extend the front steps down. Stick a coupleof pots around. Possibly inc a "bike" port under the RH window.

It was £150 off when I was looking a couple of years ago.
