You are kidding - NW Police actually commented on the lack of a rear reflector when there's a 7" x 9" hulking great yellow reflective number plate sitting there.... To$$ers. I have never in 30 years of riding had the lack of a reflector commented on by either an MOT tester or a copper. Nowadays I'll stick one on a bike if it doesn't have one purely for the MOT test (not that my tester, who is a sensible chap, is bothered about them but I don't like to take the mick), but it goes in my pocket straight afterwards.

Another good reason why my touring budget won't be wasted in Brunstrom's kingdom of N. Wales then.

Where does it say it can't be a sticker? I have a bit of reflective tape, as supplied by R+G with their tail tidies, as the reflector on my 250 and my MOT man says it's fine.

EDIT - Blimey, the MOT tester's manual does stipulate tape is not acceptable. you learn something new every day.

Have been running Oxford indies for ages, so unable to comment I'm afraid!

Hee hee more likely to be down to the fact I have a bent rear subframe

That would work! I've been thinking about moving mine as it looks like a boil on the **** of my numberplate!

Last night I fitted a new pert bottom to my bike to replace the ridiculously large plastic shovel. (£50 from Evotech, fitted it in about 90 minutes, straight on no bother). The tail tidy came with tiny reflective sticker but no obvious place to shove it. I can fit the original reflector to the bottom of mu number plate, but this (a) hidees the plate makers name & address and (b) looks crap, so the question is: Does a bike need a rear reflector? If so, how big and where does it have to be? And if anyones has "accidentally" fallen off how grumpy was the old bill about it?

Have a peaceful day
hi m8 ,i have fitted the oe reflector back on the bottom of the number plate, with a small plate with 2 holes in looks fine .btw the law requires a reflector to be fitted ,it must be atleast 1in in diameter if round or big enough to encompass a 1in dia circle if square/rectangular

[quote=redshift;1642838]Did you refit the standard indicators? If so, do they fit OK? Mine seem to be a bit loose, even with the rubber spacers fitted. Might need a bit of bodging.

Mine were loose when fitting my evo tech, fitted a couple of washers....sorted
