They are manually operated Gyroscopes and the amount of force that are put on your arms help strengthen very quickly.

Chinese chiming balls and the hand grip that Dangerous Dave posted.

The chinese balls when used correctly connect with all the acupuncture points on your hand, they also make the guiders up your forearm work individually and stengthen them
I have used them for years, and have pretty good forearms and hand grip for a sparrow. Not only that but I recommended them to my friend who had carple tunnel surgery, she got a lot of strength and grip back that she lost after surgery

Climbing. Its great for the whole body Also pretty fun if you have a decent indoor centre.

Only problem with that is if you ain't used to it you can only do it for about ten minutes before your arms completely give up on you . Also there could be potentially too much strain on arms not used to it, better to build up strength gradually I should think. Definitely good exercise though!
