Not in my car. The difference between 90 and 105 on the motorway can be caused by me flexing my toes and adjusting the pedal by a millimeter, and not noticing the speed creep up. Damn I need cruise control!

If they end up rolling this out large scale how do you appeal if you take a "non standard route"?
With normal cameras you can argue two stills using science.
With a pic of you at point A and point B how the hell can you proove you didn't take the route they think you did or that their clock wasn't off by a bit?
Will end up being your word against theirs on any appeal =/.

That's already the case with all speed cameras. Once they are type approved you are on a hiding to nothing. One or two people have got off by using the road calibration marks to prove the camera was wrong - the response is to remove the marks as they are not "needed".

You would need a big legal team and bigger wallet to fight type approval.

Like the title says, average speed cameras are being rolled out on roads that lack roadworks in an attempt to enforce speed limits more rigidly. The article says they can cover an area of up to 15 miles - anyone who's been through the M1 roadworks knows just how ****ing boring it is to spend such a huge period of time staring at your speedo to avoid a fine.

I've no problem with this cameras being used in 20mph limits to enforce them; there's enough idiots who tear through them without thinking about why such a low limit's in place. Long rural A roads, on the other hand?
Please go and repost on a car forum where they have drivers. This is Bikes - Talk & Issues read by riders
