Cheers Chris.

I did look around the clutch cover when I cleaned it and ran it- appears to be clean and not the source of the leak- though I was a bit suspicious of the bolt that holds the clamp for the overflow pipe in place. No cracks on cover. However, I may remove it and check anyway.

I shall have a look.

Oil leak update-

I degreased the engine today and cleaned the bike (in the occasional windy shower!).

Took the socket set to the bolts on the clutch cover, and they've loosened- so clearly finger tight with a screwdriver handle on the socket is not enough. Tightened them more today, but I guess I'm gonna have to find a torque wrench that does 10nm,

Haven't ridden it yet, but will see how I get on for the journey to work tomorrow...

I only had time to sort out the levers and remove my (knackered) heated grips and replace them with the old stock ones. I had a closer look at the area concerned though and it does look like I might of loosened those breather pipes. I'll give it a proper look next weekend.

if it was a breather hose that had completely come away, I suspect you'd be loosing quite a bit of oil, has your level dropped much?

After a journey to work and back today, no smelly burning oil on the collector pipe. Lovely.

Will monitor it for bolts coming loose again- and get the correct torque wrench in the near future. Assuming these bolts don't need threadlock...

Good luck sorting yours Ceri.

No, the drop has been fairly minimal, more a consistent scottoiler-like drip of oil.

Ta thedonal.
